CRYOPRESERVATION
Cryopreservation in IVF is a particular method aimed to preserve embryos, sperm or female eggs at the intention of future use.
- Patients who are going to go through radiotherapy or chemotherapy
- Couples who have extra embryos left after embryo transfer
- Females who are wishing to preserve their fertility
- When sperm is collected during microsurgery or by other means, and frozen for a subsequent IVF cycle, additional surgery may be avoided.
With the availability of frozen embryos, a woman does not need to undergo stimulation by fertility drugs to have an embryo transfer during an infertility treatment cycle.
